University of Vavuniya

 


In 1991, the Northern Province Affiliated University College (NPAUC) was established in Vavuniya to offer courses in mathematical sciences, accountancy and finance. A gazette was issued on 26 March 1997 upgrading the NPAUC to the vavuniya campus of the University of Jaffna.

It was established as the Affiliated University College of North Western Province in 1991 and after it was be come the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka "Wayamba mandapa" in 1996.It was a full flagged university naming as Wayamba University of Sri Lanka in 1999.
